Mastodon is a Twitter-like microblogging platform.

It lets users post messages (called "toots") that can include text, images, videos, and links.

Unlike Twitter/X, Mastodon is not owned by a single company. Instead, it’s made up of independent servers (called instances) that can talk to each other.
